🌍 Remote and Outsourced Development — What We’ve Seen Over the Years


Over the years, we’ve supported quite a few clients in Europe by helping them scale their tech teams with developers based in China.

❓ In the beginning, many were unsure: • 🕒 Will communication work well across time zones? • ⚠️ Is it risky to outsource core development? • 🔄 Can remote engineers really stay in sync with the rest of the team?

These are fair questions - and honestly, we had similar doubts when we first started doing this work.

✅ But after years of running real projects, we’ve seen that remote + outsourced development can work really well when there’s a good setup and mutual trust.

Some observations from our experience:

• 🧩 Many tech companies today are already mixing in-house teams with external developers. Even companies like GitHub, Automattic, or Zapier - while mostly relying on full-time employees - work with contractors and freelancers for specific areas like testing, devops, or UI components.

• 🎯 Flexibility matters more than structure. We’ve seen clients benefit from having the option to quickly bring in specific expertise without going through long hiring cycles.

• 💬 Good remote engineers know how to work async, communicate clearly, and use the right tools. A shared time zone isn't always necessary — but shared habits and clear expectations are.

🧑‍💻 Our developers are based in China, and over time they’ve adapted well to working with European teams — from communication style to technical standards. ⚙️ Many use AI tools to boost productivity and have experience across a range of industries.

🌱 Outsourcing doesn’t need to be a big leap. It can start small — and grow based on trust and results.
